1. Agreement
By accessing or using QR Studio (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organisation.
2. What the Service does
QR Studio generates QR codes for website links, plain text, email addresses, phone numbers, SMS messages, Wi-Fi networks, contact cards and calendar events. You can download the result as a PNG or SVG file. Signed-in users can save codes to a history and re-download them later.
3. Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address and keep your password secure.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 in the EEA, to create an account.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used for abuse, or that we are legally required to remove.
4. Free trial and limits
Signed-out visitors may generate three QR codes. The same limit applies to a new account until its email address is verified. Verifying your email address unlocks unlimited generation. These limits are enforced server-side and are counted per person; circumventing them — for example by scripting requests or cycling accounts — is a breach of these terms.
We may change the free limits in future. We will not reduce limits retroactively for codes you have already saved.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to create or distribute QR codes that:
- link to malware, phishing pages, or fraudulent or deceptive material;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or impersonate another person or brand;
- contain unlawful content, including content that is defamatory, hateful or harassing;
- distribute unsolicited advertising or spam; or
- violate any applicable law or regulation.
You also agree not to:
- probe, scan or attempt to breach the Service's security or authentication;
- place unreasonable load on the Service, including through automated bulk generation;
- resell the Service or present it as your own; or
- remove or obscure the ad units or attribution the Service displays.
6. Your content
You keep all rights to the content you encode and to the QR codes you generate. You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate the Service: to store the codes you save so they appear in your history, and to render them back to you.
You are responsible for the content you encode. A QR code is a pointer: if it leads somewhere unlawful or harmful, that is your responsibility, not ours.
7. Advertising
The Service is funded by advertising, including Google AdSense. Ads are labelled and appear only alongside editorial content — never on sign-in, account, verification or error screens. How advertising cookies work, and how to control them, is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual property
The Service itself — its name, design, code and content, excluding your own content — belongs to us and is protected by copyright and other laws. These terms do not grant you any right to use our branding without permission.
9. Availability
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or permanently available. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time. Because the Service is free, we do not offer any service-level commitment.
Saved history is stored on our hosting provider's infrastructure. You should keep your own copy of any QR code that matters to you — the downloaded PNG or SVG file is that copy.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account through our contact page. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability — will do so.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of QR Studio is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here limits your right to bring a claim in your own country of residence where consumer law gives you that right.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to the addresses on our contact page. See also our Privacy Policy.
